A Legacy of Awe

In Psalm 145 we are presented with a legacy of awe. One devastating, tragic result of the materialism and secularism of Western culture is that it has taken from us the awe of God. Awe was meant to keep you safe, to make you humble, to motivate you to be moral, to draw you to seek the grace you so desperately need, and to convince you to live for something bigger than yourself! Awe was meant to get you up in the morning and to give you rest at night. Awe was meant to remind you that your hope is not to be found in what you achieve or possess, but is only ever to be found in the glory of the character and plan of Another.
