The problem [that people are saved to go to heaven], of course, is in the assumption. Because the purpose of humanity is not to escape hell, and the reason Jesus came to earth was not simply to save us for eternity after we die. Jesus didn’t go to the cross as fire insurance. The purpose of God’s plan from the very beginning of time was not that you’d make it to heaven; it was that you’d be like Christ. God’s divine intention for humanity is transforming us into the likeness of Christ, who was the triune God in human flesh.
