Quote of the Day: Openness is so open

The thought [according to Clark Pinnock and Openness Theology] is that God is constantly rethinking his actions, reassessing life as he sees it unfold [because God has given men free will, he cannot know the future], and repositioning himself in order to become more deeply involved with his people. The divine/human relationship is a two-way street, and God’s will itself is evolving in concert with his creatures, for this is what the divine love means. Here is a God who could override his creatures but chooses not to, who could see all of the future but does not want to, and who could be entirely unchanging in his being but wants to change consonant with his relationship with his creatures. [David F. Wells, Above All Earthly Powers (Eerdmans, 2005), p. 246]
