Prayer of Confession

Glorious father in Heaven, we come to you on bended knee, acknowledging to you our shame. We have forgotten who you are and who we are. We have forgotten that we live because of your good pleasure. We’ve lived our lives assuming that we would be here tomorrow, when it is really in your mighty hands. We have forgotten to be grateful and to acknowledge you in everything. We’ve been distracted by the cares of what we see around us and have slacked off in our desires to imitate you so that we might bring you glory. For this we beg your forgiveness. Please forgive us we pray and fill us again with your Holy Spirit so that we might go out from here and proclaim your good news to those around us. Please fill us again with the joy of our salvation and restore an upright spirit in us. And Amen.
